Red Café, also known as Jermaine Denny, is an American rapper from Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York. He spent four years in prison in the early to mid-90s before beginning his rap career in 1996. He first performed with the group Da Franchise, who signed with Violator Records but were unable to produce any albums. Red Café then went on to sign with Arista, Capitol, Universal, and Interscope Records, but still did not release any tracks of his own.
Despite this, Red Café found success as a ghostwriter for multiple artists and began releasing mixtapes in 2006. One of his tracks, “Stick’m”, was featured in Grand Theft Auto IV, and he made an appearance in the film “Notorious.” His first studio album, “ShakeDown,” was released in 2013.
